Record Breaking Mayors
Brunch & Dinner
This was a milestone year for the annual Mayor and
Councillors Brunch and Dinner as a record amount was raised in support of the Cowansville BMP
Hospital. The February 25th, 2007 event accommodated over 500 satisfied diners and brought in
$10,125 for the cause, an amount well above previous years' results which usually topped out at
$7,500.This 19 year-old event has now realized in excess of $100,000.
As part of the Dinner/Brunch, Brome-Missisquoi Liberal MNA Pierre Paradis has
donated another $5,000, something he has done for the last several years.
Started by Brome Lake Councillor George Bristol, this year saw the veteran
alderman team up with colleague Paula Richardson and their joint efforts were obviously successful.
Proceeds go towards the purchase of medical equipment for the Hospital and we wish
to thank all of the sponsors, volunteers and diners who contributed to this significant
achievement.
